Dr. Peter Kung
Dr. Peter Kung earned a Bachelor of Science with honors in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University and a Doctorate in Medicine with honors at Northwestern University School of Medicine. His special interests include knee and shoulder arthroscopy and the treatment of sports-related injuries.
He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California at San Francisco in 2008 and worked as a sports medicine fellow at the nationally-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. He earned board certification in 2011.
While at Kerlan-Jobe, Dr. Kung trained and worked closely with team physicians who treat professional athletes from the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Dodgers, Anaheim Angels, Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Sparks, as well as collegiate football players from the University of Southern California. In addition, he also served as assistant team physician for Loyola Marymount University.
Dr. Kung’s research has been presented at the annual meetings of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Northern Chapter of the Western Orthopaedic Association, the Inman-Abbot Society, and the International Trauma Symposium. His work has been published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine, the European Journal of Radiology, Clinical Biomechanics, and the Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research Journal.
Dr. Kung joined Longview Orthopedic Associates in 2009. He enjoys fishing, hiking, scuba diving, traveling, and wine tasting.
