Dr. Bruce Blackstone
Dr. Bruce Blackstone grew up in Longview and attended R.A. Long High School. He earned a B.A. in Human Biology at Stanford University, where he was an offensive lineman on the varsity football team. He was named to the Academic All-American Team in 1973.
After earning his medical degree at the University of Washington, he completed a surgical internship at the University of Hawaii and an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Utah. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In 1983, he returned to the local area and founded Longview Orthopedic Associates.
Dr. Blackstone’s interests include sports medicine and adult reconstruction, including knee and shoulder arthroscopy and joint replacements. In 2007, he was among the first group of orthopedists to earn sub-specialty certification in sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Blackstone lives in Castle Rock. The father of five children, he enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing, and working on his tree farm.
