Longview Orthopedic Associates to Co-Sponsor Coaches’ Clinic

Longview Orthopedic Associates (LOA) and Longview Physical & Sports Therapy will again collaborate to host the Fourth Annual Sports Injury Seminar for area high school coaches. The event will be held at Pacific Surgical Institute on Saturday, March 20th.

Longview Orthopedic Associates will be represented by Peter Kung, MD; Bruce Blackstone, MD; and Jon Kretzler, MD. Kung will discuss traumatic shoulder dislocations, while Blackstone will present information about specialization in youth sports. Kretzler will provide information about knee injury prevention.

Athletic trainer Ed Earnest from Longview Physical & Sports Therapy will discuss circuit training and will also lead a taping lab. Other speakers will include Dr. Richard Kirkpatrick, who will address nutrition; athletic trainer Dan Ruiz, who will examine nutritional supplements and performance enhancement; and LPST co-owner and physical therapist Dave Knoeppel who will discuss concussion management and provide lab instruction in the evaluation of knee and shoulder injuries.
