PSI Sponsors Columbia Theatre Events
Pacific Surgical Institute kicked off the new year by sponsoring the Southwest Washington Symphony’s winter concert on January 24th and co-sponsoring theĀ Columbia Theatre’sĀ grand-reopening show featuring the Smothers brothers on February 4th.
“The Columbia Theatre has played an important role in our community for many years,” said PSI managing partner Patrick M. Lassen, MD, of Longview Urology. “It’s our pleasure to do whatever we can to provide support.”
The grand reopening was the culmination of a renovation project that began in 2004. Supporters of the theatre were able to secure state funding and private foundation grants to cover the $11.6 million tab.
The project included the installation of improved seating and new carpeting, as well as upgrades to the lobby, restrooms, backstage area, and heating and ventilation system. The chandeliers were refurbished and the plaster was refinished.
The symphony performance, which was held at the Rose Center for the Arts on the Lower Columbia College campus, featured guest violinist Maria Sampen.
