Pacific Surgical Center’s Liisa Tischer recently earned national certification as a CGRN - Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse - from the American Board of Certification for Gastroenterology Nurses.

Tischer attended a training and review course in Baltimore, Maryland, in August prior to taking and passing an exam in October.
“There was quite a bit of studying involved,” she said, “but certification is primarily based on overall knowledge gained from working in a GI lab for more than two years.”
Tischer said that although earning national certification will not change her duties at PSC, the accomplishment is an affirmation of her knowledge and her growth as a professional.
“I think it also demonstrates my commitment to the care and safety of our patients at PSC,” she said.
Tischer graduated with an RN degree from Clatsop Community College in Astoria, Oregon, in 1998. She worked at St. John Medical Center in Longview until she was hired by PSC in 2006.
She has 11 years of experience as an RN, nine as a GI nurse. At PSC, she works in both the operating and recovery rooms.
Liisa and her husband, Steve, have a daughter, Kourtney. The Tischers enjoy horseback riding, camping, and working on their house.
