Smith, Richards Celebrate Anniversaries at Longview Urology

Medical assistant Lisa Smith and surgery coordinator Vickie Richards of Longview Urology recently celebrated 10-year anniversaries with the Longview practice.

“We are so proud and so fortunate to have Lisa and Vickie as part of our team at Longview Urology,” said clinic manager Barbara Patterson. “Their skill and experience contribute to the success of our practice in so many ways.”

Lisa’s duties include sterilizing instruments, setting up and assisting with procedures, returning patients’ phone calls, and educating patients about catheterization.

“I especially enjoy assisting elderly patients,” she said. “The doctors and co-workers are also great to work with.”

Lisa and her husband have three children. Her hobbies include boating, shopping, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

Vickie Richards has served as surgery coordinator at Longview Urology since she was hired in 1998. Her duties include scheduling diagnostic exams, surgeries and post-op appointments; maintaining hospital credentialing; ordering patient informational materials; obtaining patient consents and insurance company authorizations; handling surgery coding; and scheduling the doctors’ surgery blocks, clinic days, meetings, and time off.

“The best thing about working for Longview Urology is being around the great staff and physicians. They become your second family,” she said. “Through the years I’ve also met many wonderful patients. When they hug you, it makes your day.”

Vickie and her husband, Tracy, have three children and six grandchildren. The Richardses enjoy gardening, golfing, Harley and quad riding, reading, and spending time with family.
