Flourish Skin & Laser Sponsors Life Works Fundraiser
Flourish Skin & Laser was one of 20 sponsors for a fundraising event that benefited Life Works, the organization formerly known as Residential Resources. “Jeans & Jewels” featured a New York street scene and served as a coming-out party for Life Works, which has not only changed its name but is also in the process of building its own $2.3-million facility.
The event took place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 26th at 906 New York Street in Longview. The former Rawhide Electric building is currently being remodeled by J.H. Kelly to house the Life Works staff.

“We think Life Works is a great organization because it provides direct benefits to the people in our community,” said Mary Boaglio, co-owner of Flourish Skin & Laser. “We were very proud to be involved with this event.”
All proceeds from Jeans & Jewels will be used to support Life Works programs. The organization’s mission is to help people with disabilities live independently. Life Works does this by providing in-home support, medical assistance, personal care, teaching and training, and transportation to approximately 100 clients. The 18,000-square-foot facility on New York Street will also house the Cowlitz AmeriCorps Network Program, which provides assistance to 8,000 community members.
“We wanted to bring the Cowlitz County community something a little different,” said Life Works CEO Marti Johnson. “We’ve changed our name and we’re moving into a new building. It’s a great reason to celebrate.”
Guests were treated to an array of hors d’oeuvres and beverages. They also had the opportunity to purchase cosmopolitans and flights of scotch and engage in games and a silent auction that gave them a chance to win tickets to a Blazer game, gas cards, a humidor filled with cigars, jewelry, a personal trainer package, a football signed by former Seahawk Curt Warner, a poster signed by Donald and Melania Trump, a $6,000 bathroom remodel, and a $3,000 make-over package from Flourish Skin & Laser.
In addition to Flourish Skin & Laser, sponsors included St. John Medical Center, KLOG, Farm Dog Bakery, Financial Life Dimensions, Propel Insurance, Fibre Federal Credit Union, Reprographics, Cascade Networks, the Gallery of Diamonds, Wilcox & Flegel, Interior Resources, Collins Architectural Group, Pacific Office Automation, J.H. Kelly, Waste Control, Walstead-Mertsching, Westby Associates, Royce’s Prop Shop, and DeFrancisco, Lampitt & Brado.
