Pacific Surgical Institute Sponsors Charity Golf Event
Pacific Surgical Institute joined dozens of other local businesses and organizations in sponsoring the Youth & Family LINK Charity Golf Tournament at Longview Country Club on June 29th. More than 80 golfers participated, generating nearly $15,000 in contributions.
Money raised at the event will help pay for open gym time for local youngsters at the Youth & Family Link Community Center and Gymnasium. The Center, which was completed in 2008, features a basketball court, stage, and four meeting rooms. Located at 907 Douglas Street in Longview, the facility is open to the public and is also used by Youth & Family LINK for many of its life skills and youth and family development classes, as well as a variety of social and recreational activities.

“It’s a pleasure and a privilege to support Youth & Family LINK,” said Patrick M. Lassen, M.D., of Longview Urology, who is one of PSI’s managing partners. “It’s a great cause and an excellent way for us to lend a hand to at-risk kids and families in our community.”
Founded in 1997, Youth & Family LINK is committed to promoting positive changes in the lives of local children and their families by connecting them to resources that will result in success at school and at home. The organization relies heavily on community support to make sure services remain affordable and accessible.
Dedicated in memory of Lee Wollenberg, the center has received strong support from the Wollenberg family and the Wollenberg Foundation. Lee Wollenberg, who did in 2006, was one of the founders of the Toutle River Boys Ranch, the predecessor to Youth & Family LINK.
